ASD Coaching for Children & Parents

Strength-Based Autism Coaching to Build Communication, Confidence, and Connection

So families can support their child's unique wiring with strategies that actually fit, instead of forcing a one-size-fits-all approach.

“Our child's behavior and mood improved as I implemented her coaching. Our bond is stronger.” — Antoinette Herron, Parent & Behavioral Therapist

Are You Experiencing These Challenges?

Communication Gets Misread

Meltdowns, shutdowns, and non-typical communication are often mistaken for defiance instead of overwhelm.

Sensory Overwhelm

Everyday sounds, textures, and environments can push a child past their capacity — and it looks like “misbehavior” from the outside.

Kids Deserve to Be Understood

No autistic child should have to mask who they are to be accepted — they deserve strategies built around their actual strengths.

With over 15 years of experience supporting neurodiverse students, Elizabeth Sharpe, M.Ed. uses strength-based, evidence-informed ASD coaching that meets your child where they are instead of asking them to mask who they are. She understands how isolating it feels when your child's needs are misread as behavior problems — and she has the tools to help your family build real understanding and connection.

Real stories from the families she coaches

Elizabeth Sharpe's daughter “The Teen Who Forgot Everything” +

Today, I coached a mom worried her teen wasn’t ready for life. She said:

  • He forgets everything
  • Disrespects me
  • Is glued to video games
  • Isn’t motivated or organized

These are common traits of kids with executive function challenges — not character flaws. Their brains have uneven strengths and weaknesses. Traditional discipline doesn’t work here. In fact, it often makes things worse, increasing stress and shutdown.

The brain is a muscle. It can be strengthened. I assess 19 different factors that affect behavior — five of which are essential to improving self-regulation. By understanding these, we move from conflict to cooperation faster.

As a professional — and as a mom of three neurodiverse children — I’ve seen the transformation that happens when parents learn tools that build the brain instead of breaking trust.

If you’re ready for less frustration and more progress, I’m here to help.

Elizabeth Sharpe's son “From Meltdowns to Miracles” +

Today, I met a mom who was on the verge of tears. Her son’s daily meltdowns left her exhausted and hopeless. She’d tried everything — therapy, charts, consequences, even medication — but nothing worked.

When a child is dysregulated, it’s not defiance. It’s a nervous system in survival mode. Traditional behavior plans can’t reach that part of the brain.

The good news? The brain can be rewired. With the right tools, we shift from chaos to calm. I teach parents strategies that regulate the brain and body — tools that help kids respond instead of react.

Parents are the most powerful influence in the room. Not a program, not a system — you.

By the end of our session, that same mom had hope in her eyes. She had a plan. She had tools. And for the first time in a long time, she believed change was possible.

If you feel defeated, remember: you are not powerless — you just need the right tools.

Parent Coaching Case Studies

Ileana Merlos “Building Unity, Calm, and Confidence at Home” — Ileana Merlos & Family +
Before: This couple came to Elizabeth feeling exhausted and out of sync as parents. Their child’s neurodivergence made routines challenging, and disagreements about discipline were creating distance between them.

During: Elizabeth coached them together, building a shared language and consistent structure at home, with practical tools tailored to their child’s specific triggers.

After: The family reports calmer mornings, fewer power struggles, and a renewed sense of partnership as parents.

“Elizabeth didn’t just give us strategies — she helped us become a team again.”
Antoinette Herron “How Parent Coaching Strengthened Connection and Calmed the Storm” — Antoinette Herron +
Before: As both a parent and a behavioral therapist, Antoinette knew the theory — but was struggling to apply it consistently at home during her own child’s meltdowns.

During: Weekly sessions with Elizabeth focused on in-the-moment regulation tools and a consistent household routine.

After: “Our child’s behavior and mood improved as I implemented her coaching. Our bond is stronger.”

ASD Coaching FAQ

How much does ASD Coaching cost?+
Pricing is personalized for each family's goals and needs. During your free discovery call, Elizabeth will recommend the right plan and frequency.
Is this the same as ABA therapy?+
No. Coaching is strength-based and skills-focused, working alongside therapy rather than replacing ABA, OT, or speech therapy your child may already receive.
How is coaching different from therapy?+
Coaching targets daily-life strategies and parent skills; therapy addresses clinical and developmental needs directly. The two work well together.
When will we see progress?+
Many families notice improvements within 4–6 weeks of consistent practice and strategy use.
Do parents need to be involved?+
Yes — parent involvement is central to ASD coaching, since consistency at home is what makes new strategies stick.
